Connecting your Microsoft 365 account to Looply

Screenshots coming soon. Follow the steps below for now.

Before you connect

Before connecting a Microsoft Office 365 / Outlook sender, make sure IMAP and Authenticated SMTP are enabled for the exact mailbox you want to use in Looply.

If you have not done that yet, start with the SMTP settings for Microsoft accounts article, then come back here to finish connecting the sender.

1. Go to Email Accounts

1.
Log in to Looply.
2.
Open Data Settings → Email Accounts.
3.
Review the existing senders if you are reconnecting an account that was already added before.

2. Click Connect email

1.
Click Connect email.
2.
Choose Office 365 / Outlook.
3.
Looply will open the Microsoft connection flow for that sender.

3. Confirm SMTP and IMAP are enabled

Looply asks you to confirm that the mailbox is ready before opening Microsoft OAuth.

1.
Confirm IMAP is enabled for the mailbox.
2.
Confirm Authenticated SMTP is enabled for the mailbox.
3.
Click Yes, SMTP has been enabled.
If SMTP was enabled a few minutes ago, wait up to one hour before connecting. Microsoft settings can take time to propagate.

4. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 / Outlook mailbox

1.
Choose the Microsoft 365 / Outlook mailbox you want Looply to send from.
2.
If the mailbox is not listed, click Use another account.
3.
Sign in with the mailbox credentials and complete any Microsoft security prompt.

5. Approve Microsoft permissions

Microsoft will show the permissions Looply needs to verify the sender, sync replies, and send sequence emails from the mailbox.

Approve the Microsoft permission request.
If Microsoft asks for organization consent, ask a Microsoft 365 admin to approve Looply for the mailbox or tenant.
Looply uses IMAP access to sync replies into the Looply Inbox.
Looply uses SMTP access to send campaign email steps from the connected sender.

6. Wait for Looply to verify the sender

After Microsoft redirects you back to Looply, Looply verifies OAuth permission, IMAP access, and SMTP access for the sender.

If verification succeeds, the sender appears as connected in Email Accounts.
You can use the sender for campaign email steps once the account is connected.
Replies from that mailbox can sync into the Looply Inbox after the connection is healthy.

Important notes

Admin permissions may be required to approve Microsoft access or change mailbox email app settings.
Tenant-level Microsoft settings can still block SMTP AUTH even when the mailbox setting looks enabled.
If Looply shows an Outlook IMAP or SMTP permission error, wait for propagation, then reconnect from Data Settings → Email Accounts.
If the sender still fails after one hour, contact support with a screenshot of the sender status and the Microsoft error shown in Looply.
Use Looply's Microsoft Office 365 / Outlook OAuth flow for Microsoft senders. Avoid unsupported browser-session or mailbox workarounds when connecting email accounts.
